About ZoomText Computer Magnification Software:
ZoomText is a screen magnification software for Windows computers from a manufacturer called Freedom Scientific.
For the Home Annual License (U.S. only) of ZoomText, the cost is $93.50 per year. The annual license is automatically renewed and is managed using the Vispero Portal.
Free alternative screen magnification includes the built-in magnifier feature. Other features similar to ones available with ZoomText can be found in the Accessibility section of Settings under the Vision section.
Shared Licenses:
Some jobs and schools have shared licenses that individuals can use.

Getting Started with ZoomText:
When you first start ZoomText, the ZoomText toolbar appears, and your screen displays in Full view mode with 2x magnification. If you are using ZoomText with speech, speech is also enabled.
The ZoomText toolbar allows you to adjust how your screen looks and functions when using ZoomText. The toolbar can be used with the mouse or with the keyboard.
Managing your ZoomText Account:
Check for software updates by going to the ZoomText toolbar, clicking on ZoomText, then hovering over Help, then clicking Check for Updates. If a new ZoomText version is available, it will be added as a new icon on the desktop.
Keys to Know to use ZoomText:
Enter Key.
Caps Lock Key.
Up Arrow Key.
Down Arrow Key.
Alt Key.
Zooming in and out:
To zoom in and increase magnification from 2x, press the Caps Lock key and the up arrow key on your keyboard.
To zoom out and decrease magnification, press the Caps Lock key and the down arrow key on your keyboard.
In the Magnifier tab, the far left feature is the Zoom Level. The arrows can be used to adjust the magnification.
ZoomText Customization Features:
The Mouse Pointer:
To customize the mouse pointer, select Pointer, then select Settings, then select Custom.
Speech on or off:
To turn speech on or off, press Caps Lock then Alt and then Enter on your keyboard.
Screen Brightness and Contrast:
Select Color, then select Settings, and then select Custom. From there you can customize the screen brightness, amount of color contrast, and the color contrast type such as white text on a black background.
Cursor:
To customize the cursor, select Cursor, then select Settings, then select Custom.
Keyboard Audio:
In the Reader tab, select Keyboard, and then Settings. From there you can select which keys will be spoken aloud when typed and if you want words to be spoken aloud.
Mouse Audio:
In the Reader tab, select Mouse, and then Settings. From there you can select what and how much you want what your mouse pointer is on to be spoken aloud.
